At some point in your World of Warcraft: Shadowlands adventures you will end up in Bastion. As with any land in World of Warcraft, there are many quests to do to build reputation and explore. You will encounter two bickering Kyrian: Nemea and Pelodis. Starting this questline will begin to explore two cat themed potential mounts later on. But you can only choose one.

Mounts are tied to quests and reputation. In the base game, there are the Cloud Serpents. You are forced to choose a Cloud Serpent color at the start of the quest. In World of Warcraft’s new expansion, Shadowlands, there is a similar quest between the Larion and the Phalynx. The bulk of this questline is between Nemea and Pelodis as they try to convince you that their techniques are better. Nemea will introduce you to the Larion, taking pride in the bond between two living things and the companionship. Pelodis will introduce you to the Phalynx and brag about their robotic obedience.

The final quest in this line is Pride or Unit. You are forced to choose between the Larion and the Phalynx. The quest takes you back to the bottom of the hill. You have the option to speak to both Nemea and Pelodis once more to have them make their case. Whichever choice you make is final. The game warns you that you cannot change your mind.

If you choose the Larion, you can return to Nemea and buy items from her. If you feed any of the Larion a Larion Treat, you can have one of them as a pet for ten minutes.

We did not choose the Phalynx. When we approached Pelodis after siding with Nemea, he would not interact with us. We suspect that if you side with Pelodis, you will be able to take one of the Phalynx with you. The many players that wander by with Obedient Phalynx pets suggest this is the case.

No new quests begin right away with these two. It is possible that it unlocks a questline to earn either the Larion or Phalynx as a mount later in the game. Your choice doesn’t change much yet, but it may be best to assume that you get one of them as a mount later and pick the one you would prefer.
