Pokémon Go fans have a brand new array of Pokémon to enjoy with the Kalos region’s release. With the release of several new Pokémon from the series’ sixth generation, there is a Kalos Celebration event happening throughout December, right at the Season of Celebrations’ start. The events happening in the Kalos Celebration will be giving trainers additional chances to capture Kalos-specific Pokémon starting on December 2.

When does the Kalos Celebration event start and for how long?

The Kalos Celebration event in Pokémon Go starts on December 2 at 10 AM and ends on the 8 at 10 PM in your local time zone. You only have a week to take advantage of these boost spawns and specific Eggs, so make the most of it.

Each of these field tasks will come with rewards, and we’ll be updating this page with that information when the event rolls out, and we have a better idea of what to expect.

Does Fennekin, Chespin, Fletchling, Froakie, Litleo, Klefki, and Espurr have shiny versions?

The big question many players will have is if the starter evolution for the new Pokémon will be released with their shiny versions. Prior to the official Kalos event, players have been raiding against Espurr for a full day, and so far, no trainer has captured a shiny version. That leads many to believe that the other Pokémon, notably Fennekin, Chespin, Fletchling, Froakie, Litleo, and Kelfki, will not have their shiny versions released at the start of the event. However, the shiny assets are in the game. This has already been confirmed by the data mining team, Pokeminers, on their Twitter page.

While Niantic may not release the shiny versions right now, rest assured they will come out in the future. It’s only a matter of time.
