Animal Crossing: New Horizons features every season we experience in the real world, and they have select times that these seasons occur. If you live in the northern hemisphere, you’ll be able to maple leaves falling from the trees from November 16 to 26. Although those that live in the southern hemisphere, these leaves are falling from May 16 to the 26. These will be flying through the air, and you need to catch them to use them in any of your DIY projects.
To catch any of the maple leaves you see falling, take out your butterfly nut and swat at it from the air. It’s similar to if you see a large bug flying through the air, so make sure to catch it quickly. These don’t last forever, although, they frequently fall from all of the trees on your island.
While Nintendo has changed how time traveling works following the 1.6 update for New Horizons, players can still catch these leaves whenever they need to. All you need to do is adjust the internal clock on your Nintendo Switch device and go to the appropriate time for your hemisphere. After you’ve adjusted your clock, jump back onto your island to grab as many maple leaves as you can carry before returning things to normal.
